Pierburg 2e2
« on: 19 July 2012, 14:42 »
Hi have just done the repair kit on my carb, first time ever done a pierburg 2e2
Changed my engine from a 1.6 mk2 G reg golf to a 1.8 which was off a mk2 golf automatic (im not changing to automatic so a few things may be redundent Im thinking as I wont be using the a/c either)

there are a few wires Im not sure of and wondering if anyone can help?

first wire is coming from the fuel channel heater its a black wire on the front of the carb, no 37 on the exploded diagram I got from Cower& lee website
second wire is appears to be a heating element that comes from the rear of the choke assembly n0 28 on the diagram

if anyone could help I would be greatful

thanks in advance

For the part-throttle-channel heater you're looking for a plastic housing with a single spade connector inside, but with two wires coming into the back of. Black 1mm² wire and a black/yellow 0.5mm²; the former is coming from the fusebox, the latter loops round to supply 12V to the Thermotime Valve (TTV).

For the autochoke electrical heater, you should find another plastic housing with a single spade conn. this time on the end of a single black wire with yellow stripe. This wire originates at a grey thermoswitch on the front coolant flange.
