Haha yea I think I will.

So you think the grand loan over 3 years at £35 a month is worth it? While saving a grand of my own money? If so should have the car in a months time if I find the right one.

possible to find a mk4 golf gti 1.8T for less then 2k then?

Obviously golfs have high mileage as they are like tanks but is there a certain amount of miles you should avoid on one?

E.g. Don't touch one past 150k?

I wouldn't totally write the 2.0 out if i were you. I have one it looks awesome but no it doesnt have the power you would expect.

But its reliable and costs me less than a 1.1 saxo to insure! I have me and my other half on. (i have 2 years no claims and she has just passed) And i pay £800 a year.

Its definitely not exactly gti performance but compared to the 1.1 saxo i had it feels good to me :)

If you want performance and engine mods then avoid the 2.0. But if you want reliabilty and cheap insurance with all the looks then the 2.0 is still a good choice.

Plus they are going for cheap as fook right now!
