mk3 sunroof delete?

anybody binned the sunroof on a mk3 3 door please?
What did you replace the unti with and how did you hold it in place?

(going after some weight reduction and I'll bet there's 20kgs right there)

Is this for a track car then, if it is I'd consider riveting an aluminium sheet over the opening if you didn't want to weld it up properly.

sunroof and motor probably weigh 12kg max

Alot of pain just to get rid of it

I cut a section of roof the same colour from another mk3 and sealed/riveted in place.


Its weight high up so worth the loss.
