Failed on a couple things, excessive corrosion on rear brake pipes, and a couple other things. f**k.

Oh well, getting all sorted nect week so it'll be okay then.

I've had this one every year. This year i rubbed the pipes with a bit of wet and dry and slapped on the hammerite. Under the sh!t they were like new though

So youve mot`d your car and its failed,does this mean you now have no mot until it passes,as the fail voids any remaining mot? thought i heard something about it called the mot trap

Same here, pressure washed them then sprayed them with paraffin/diesel.

I don't think so, as my current MOT isn't up until 7th Augist and they said even if it fails I still have up until then. Although I will check this now.

This. I did it too after getting an advisory one year. Did this the following year and flew through without a mention. As long as the unions are in a reasonable state, it should be fine mate.

No the minor ones were chip in windscreen and something else.

I made sure all obvious things were done such as washer fluid. 

How much work is involved with replacing brake pipes? And how much roughly should I be letting a garage charge for the job?

Likewise, failed last year got a second opinion and rubbed them down then it went straight through on retest. This year I got an advisory on them. When I get the chance il clean then up properly and hammerite them as well.
