Steering makes creaking noise but only on the left?

This is an odd one. Low mileage car, just 66k. Steering has always been quiet until I went over a low bit of kerb (only about 3 or 4 inches high) with the left front wheel a couple of weeks ago, this was at low speed manoeuvring around a bus blocking my turn.

Ever since then I've noticed an intermittent 'creaking' noise when turning left dry steering while parking or at low speeds. The car is on coil-overs, very slightly lowered (you can still see the top edge of the tyres). Any ideas people?

Oh really fella? How long has it been like it for and what do you think it is?

I'm guessing it's nothing to really worry about then? Reason I ask is I've got a long trip up to the Lake District from Peckham planned for me and my girlfriend and don't want anything going wrong, lol!

Sounds like top mounts

Yep just changed my Tyres for some stretched rubber and sprayed wd40 up the topmount from under the wing and it improved it a lot! I'm going to buy new ones

Mines got brand new top mounts and bearings and it still creaks a bit when its wet, seems fine when warm and dry though, i've just put it down to running lowered.

I'm going to cover them in copper slip.

Probably put the top mounts on when fitting coilovers, as most people do.

Anyone ever tried those Flo-Flex polyurethane top mounts? Are they better than the originals?
