f**k the haters stick a cam in it then a turbo, this would be another special Mk3 and a credit to you and the golf world and our site.
Who cares if you can get more bhp for less money and mucho scene points its about being an individual.

A friend had a turbocharged Mk2 8v, it ran about 170bhp at full boost and was real hoot to drive :cool:
Once he stopped stacking gaskets it was reliable as a std car :grin:

A 1.8t with a remap will be up past 200bhp and will last longer :huh:

I'd quite like a go at it, unless it did mount up loads, maybe at some point I'll price it up, and also be interesting to know if the standard ecu could cope with the turbo...

Wouldn't wanna be staacking headgaskets, would have to be a proper metal one.. Of sorts..

They die pritty quick on standard 8v  :laugh: :tongue:

I didnt know you could even map the 8v ECU tbh, thought it was all chips?

That's an issue, however Ben was talking about hoping the vr ecu will handle his twin turbos, so will be seeing how he gets on, ifonline would need stand alone then.. " I'm out"  hear too many people struggling with stand alone stuff and it would still be my daily...

I do think it would be interesting to have a 8v turbo, would run a more reliable box as well..

Guys running 8v turbos in America tend to stick to the 020 gearbox. With regular servicing they don't go bang as easily as you might think
