hopefully the cam will be here for Friday so I can put it in and try it out going to bugjam.

but who has fitted a cam and mapped a 8v? Or know of a 8v?

just want to know if a map is worth it.

asked carbon and want more than one opinion

don't want hear 1.8t siht please  :grin:

you could buy an off the shelf chip and get ok gains, or spend more (much more) and get a map that is customized for YOUR engine and YOUR mods.

Before a remap though, get a vernier pulley and set the cam up.

Khare That cam you linked does fit a mk3? It said mk4 and beetle but I thought that's the same one you got?

You will easily be able to hold your own against a 16v with them mods
My old 8v could keep up with them and all I had was a exhaust and filter.. Maybe the 16v car was not as healthy as my 8v, who knows but yeah I'd go for it, yours is a low miler.. Perfect base for 8v Turbo :evil:

With respect, even with a cam, filter and chip your only going to be around 130 / 135bhp, 16v is 150 standard plus will pull more revs

I bought a vr6 with a rebuilt engine to swap but couldn't do. So got a mk4 vr6 to swap over and still didn't have the heart to do it.
I think one day il do it, already looking at pistons  :lipsrsealed:

They always tend to make factory power sometimes even more as the miles go on and they loosen up.
