New Seat launched
« on: 16 July 2012, 14:46 »
Ahead of the MK7 launch here are some pics and details of the new Seat on the MQB platform.

The warm version is getting the 180PS 1.8T engine.

First glance it looks good, but....

They have lost the hidden rear door handles which seems a strange backward step, but they have moved the NAV unit into the drivers eyeline which is 100% improvement and one of my biggest moans about my current Leon.

Interested to see the entire range and the hot diesel

I think the hot/warm diesel will be the modifed 2.0 TDI with 181bhp until late 2013.

Yes must agree with Raffe, it does seem a backward step to get rid of the hidden rear door handles, the diesels sound very promising

Most interesting thing for me is 3 door + Cupra R

Could be interesting for us that can't justify £30+K on a Golf R.

Arse end looks like the Alfa Giulietta.......................

Not overly convinced, but I suppose they're doing the same as the rest of the VAG range, and sticking closely to previous models across the range with regard to looks.  :undecided:

Looks like a Kia Cee'd from the side, front & arse ends decent enough though.

I think VAG must be airing on the side of caution as its designs are not too dissimilar from its predecessor, as with the mk7 golf etc.

I've always liked the Seat and you get a lot of car for ya coin. My mate loves his FR+ and a big BHP diesel will be a definite winner.

Agreed, an equivalent spec on a golf GTD compared to my Leon was an additional £5k new, incidentally the same price as an S-line A3.
