Mk3 Cabrio under door sill, skirt
« on: 15 July 2012, 22:35 »
Hey. I have recently taken ownership of a mk3 Cabrio. I've bought the gti wheels arches, door and back panel trim for it but the sill under the doors that runs along the car is colour coded and I want the black ones to go with the trim. Is this possible and where do I get them from?? The trim will look like it floating without the sills so I'm desperate for them. Does anyone have any pics so I know I'm describing the correct part? Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

The sill itself is totally different for the hatchback and the GTI/16v/VR6 black two part side skirts do not fit.

But I have spoken to Optikwerks in the US and been told these textured ABT style skirts have been fitted with some slight trimming underneath - http://www.optikwerks.com/Golf3/ABTRepTexturedSideSkirts/index.html

Also a lot of Cabrio's done in the US have just painted the sills paint to match the chin spoiler and the rear bumper lip like this.

Yeah I was thinking of just gettin some matt black chip proof paint and having that done. You think this would look ok? The sills are deep on the cabrio ain't they!!!!

The Cabrio pictured is somewhere close to my end result, I'm deciding still as to paint black or the textured ABT skirts. Anything else would look sh!te, think I might paint them black first, order the skirts and if I don't like I'll ebay them
