bloody headlights!
« on: 15 July 2012, 19:17 »
This is a strange one

My mk3 has mk4 style lights on and last night the dipped beam decided its not going to work!

I had to drive home at 1 in the morning with fog lights and side lights :(

I have checked the fuses and all ok!

The Full beam doesnt stay on either it will only flash!?! Does the full beam turn the dipped off when you flash it?

the dipped normally is ment to stay on and you can also have the full beam at the same time isnt it!

Bloody car is pi55ing me off :(

I'd check the wiring at the headlamp switch too.

I like the mk4 headlights though!

I am going to smooth my front bumper out see

The mk3 lights are ment to have dipped beam and full beam at the same time if you click it on the stalk?

Yes thats correct, which makes me think its the actual headlamp switch. Your full beam, controllable with the stalk, will only come on and stay on if dipped beam is on. Could be a number of things though.

Sounds like a switch issue more than the actual headlights, do you know anyone you can borrow one from?
