GTi DAB radio question
« on: 15 July 2012, 19:05 »
Hi

My new GTi will be collected on September 1st.
It has a DAB RCD310 head unit.
Question is, is the actual head unit DAB enabled or is it a normal RCD310 head unit with a seperate DAB unit ( as I think it is ).

Reason for asking is I can see myself changing the head unit at some point (maybe for a nice Pioneer).

The radio is DAB enabled.

No need to bother with aftermarket when £250 buys you an "out of a new car" RCD510. I've looked into aftermarket radios for my old Passat, and after the RCD510 in my Golf, they are all cack.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Ah ok, I was thinking that the actual unit was did not physically have the DAB and that there was a seperate DAB unit/device.

Ordered it, arrived the next morning, now fitted and working perfectly, BT/DAB//Park Sensors

All original protective covers were still in place with code and handbook.

Nice one.

Also if you keep your original radio to refit when you sell the car, you'll probably get a good price for the RCD510 if you sell it on.
