18 inch alloys on a mk4
« on: 04 October 2003, 10:34 »
Hello there guys, as you can see i have only just registered for this forum so sorry if  i anoy any one with all the newbie questions!

My story is that i am going to pick up my golf gt tdi on monday and so i thought i would start looking into the alloy wheel stuff.

I have been searching the forum to see if 18 inch alloys will fit on the mk4 tdi golf, if wheel arch modifications are needed and then if i can lower the vehicle with the 18's on and by how much.

There are plenty of threads with references to lowering, 18's etc but there is not enough information or advice there to warrant me getting my wallet out yet!

I would particulary like to hear from any one who has first hand experiance of 18's on a mk4 and also anyone else who knows anything about it.

Is there any other forums out there that you guys use??

Many thanks

Andy R

So is it true with 18" alloys your quite limited to tyre choice?  My mates got some 18's on his and his tyres cost a fortune!!
