Even if you get it for £4K you are going to have to spend £1-2K sorting out the issues with a low mileage car

the work shop estimate excluding cambelt was £1555.80

IMO You were lucky NOT to get it - May Only have 25K on the clock but looks and sounds like an Unloved car... Look at the Alloys...

If you thought about it with your head and not your heart - to put this back to a standard to match the mileage you (IMO) would really struggle to make a short term profit on it... I know thats maybe not what you were thinking - but has to be taken into consideration...

Agree with ken on this one.
Whilst this is a low miler and it would be nice to own a MINT low miler, this is far from it.
Needs panels, bumpers, wheels, interior, suspension etc etc.
Would be cheaper to buy a tidy-ish car for a grand then spend the rest doing it up. You'd end up with a nice car for a lot less the only difference being the mileage on the engine.
And on a Golf that doesn't matter too much. If it did bother you though you could have the engine rebuilt.
The only selling point on this car is what the clock reads.
IMO this is quite a lot of money for a car that isn't too good.

Bloody hell that is so wrong..the seats are wrong

I thought they were the right seats for a 1990 8V. My 1989 small bumper 8V had the same pattern, but when I bought a replacement set to do some repairs, I found that they had come from a 90 spec car and were a slightly different shape.

I have to agree with the other comments about the cars value. No way is it worth £4k. Even though it has service history, alarm bells would be ringing regarding the mileage. If it is genuine, then another £2k would make it into a very nice car, but at £6k, there's never going to be any profit in it.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
