So the car's been at VW for 3 days and it looks like they're going to conclude that it's normal to feel a very, very, very slight "click" or the pedal "stick" just before the biting point. They've been tested it side by side with another GTI that they have for sale and they're both doing it. Usually only when warm. I noticed it after a few thou miles, probably around 1,500-2,000 and it's on 5,000 now. I'm very paranoid about the clutch as I've already had a new slave and clutch as it was slipping due to a leaky slave.

Will be glad if it is indeed normal but p1ssed off nonetheless as it really annoys me, I notice it all the time and I've never driven another car which did that!
I think part of the problem is that the GTI's clutch is so smooth, e.g. no vibrations through it or anything so it is easy to notice anything like this. Whereas the Tig courtesy car you can feel diesel vibrations through the pedal so it would mask anything slightly untoward.
