Do you have a link as to where you got the conversion harnesses from?

Hi Raffe. Try this search on Germany's eBay

Is there any price variation between the GTi/GTD and R versions?

I honestly don't know. I think that if there is, it it'll be minimal in comparison to the total price i.e. just a few %

Guys, forgive my ignorance, but why do you need coding if you change the lights?  Please en*light*en me, i am searching to buy a pair of these beauties but i need to know what buggage they carry before i do
GTI MKVI, 5dr DSG, Candy White, Bi-Xenon, ACC, 18" Monza shadow, RCD510 w/Dynaudio, Sunroof, w/2 baby seats... and she's a beauty.

They neeed coding because the system thinks you've bulbs out due to the lower voltage used on LED's

The lights are LEDs so different voltage ( lower) to standard bulbs so need to code the ECU to say its got LEDs so it doesn't throw an error......... I think!?

End of the day, you need to change the opition using vagcom. Probably better if u google vagcom to see what it is than someone trying to explain.
