Best way to polish up a rocker cover???

Like the tittle says really.... What's the best way to polish up a rocker cover?? I have a spare one and want to give it ago Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

get all the paint and grime off it. then but a polishing kit from ebay that you use with a drill.
the kit comes with instructions on wich mops to use with witch compound. i just had ago at an old rocker cover i had from a 1.4 and it started to come out really good but i gave up as i got board lol.

Yeah as stainesy said.
I got a matt finish wheel to get all scratches out then buff with mops and compounds. And finish off with a metal polish paste on the softest wheel

ive just done my vr6 inlet manifold

i used below

electric drill (battery will take you ages + you have to charge every 15 mins and you need the rpms 
sanding wheel attachment i used 80 grade B and Q (perfect for spining the crap off) expensive but worth it
wet and dry paper
80 grade
100
120 and go up more if you want a mirror shine
alloy buffer discs (halfords £14.99)
finish with auto sol

make sure you have alot of time, mine took 2 weeks working on it 2 hours a night however i would
be able to half the time now i'm sure how to do it.

and yes it took me alot of time sweat and more time to get mine shiney and its still not mirrow finnish yet.

the bosh sander wheel attachment saved my life most of the work was done with that £15 saved me alot of time,
