Aerial problems
« on: 08 July 2012, 00:26 »
When I bought the car earlier this year the radio signal was shocking and I noticed the last owner had put one of these in.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dodge-Windscreen-Glass-Mount-Car-Radio-Aerial-Antenna-/250578427444?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a57a35e34#ht_2274wt_1270

The signal is OK but there is only about 3 stations I can find and 1 of them hardly works and when it does work it's quieter than the other stations

Basically where do these things fit to? Has he installed it to the standard wiring where the CD player is?

I want to buy a Polo aerial and fit it but I can't until I work out how to remove this windscreen aerial, any help would be appreciated :)

I'd imagine your oem aerial wiring is still behind the stereo unused (i assume he hasn't smoothed the roof) you wouldn't tap into it or anything (other than power etc)  to run a glass mout, it has it's own wiring do just rip it all out.

The previous owner might have installed one for a reason do check the oem connector first as they can break (although you can buy connectors and re-crimp it)
