Can't say I have heard of this company...maybe worth a google search to see if there's any feedback from peeps who have taken the plunge.

Having messed about a bit with Tuning Boxes around the turn of the century when I'd got bored of the flat mid range of my VR6s and I turned to TDI tuning to keep me entertained.
I found the 'Original Tuning Box' and Van Aaken digital units pretty good until I discovered UPsolute and big injectors (which killed my fuel economy!!).

I wonder how these modern boxes compare with an OBD flash from a decent tuner being as VW are supposedly looking more in depth for signs of remapping now when dealer visits are made, have any of our resident remappers looked at them?

^^ i don't think so... which is why I thought I'd put the question out there. I haven't heard of this company myself.

I may think about using my gf's A1 as a lab rat and see how it goes, but matter of getting her to agree is another story...

These plug in units were popular on the older TDIs as they merely adjusted fuel quantity to suit throttle position (on a Diesel more fuel = more power up to a point as they run at full air flow all the time) and thus were quite simple but effective to use. Modern Diesels obviously have all of the exhaust emissions stuff strangling the system which you don't want to clog up so you have to be much more careful.
But petrol tuning is somewhat more complex requiring ignition maps as well as fuel maps. I notice on the photo of the box there are plenty of connectors on it so it basically looks like a stand alone ECU processor and thus could well be quite advanced, and if the map is written properly should be pretty effective. Looks interesting for sure.
