Running issues

Hi guys. Changed the cambelt on my 8v gti this morning and now I've a problem. When I accelerate the engine won't rev past 4.5k revs. It's like it's hitting the rev limiter early. Any ideas before I pull it all apart again?

Sounds like you have the timing out and it is safe mode.
