Clutch and gearbox problem after change
« on: 07 July 2012, 12:13 »
Afternoon geezers!!

So, yet another problem.
The clutch was changed this Wednesday, and ever since in the morning and when the car is cold, it's almost impossible to put it into gear!
Question is could this be the realease bearing or could it be the oil?
Oil has probably never been changed on it and it's at 147k.
I can get it into gear with the engine off, but when it's on the problem occurs.

Any ideas?

I know mine when it is cold take a little more 'forcing' to get it into gear compared to when warm it just slips in gear to find...

...No innuendoes there

I have heard people doing the gearbox re allignment and changing the gearbox oil and it making a world of difference. One to think about...

Replacing the oil would be a good move or try rebleeding it.

Brilliant responses guys! Am going to give it a bleed this week as it wasnt done when the clutch was changed! Also going to put new oil through for the sake of it :)
Any recommendations on the Gbox oil?
