Its up to you! but I can tell you that if someone bought me a door with the holes welded up, I wouldn't be impressed!
From your body guys point of view, it would mean even more unnecessary work... I would want a customer to bring me a fully stripped out, unmolested rot free door shell, the odd dent would be fully acceptable, as well as expected...

Good job he priced it high! if it was any less, you might not have called it into question, and ended up with a pup!

Thom

Jeez, I bought a complete door last year with glass, mirror, everything, just because I wanted the window regulator. I paid a tenner for it. It was mint too.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

No local lads breaking them? Bought myself a drivers door from just down the road for £10, only thing missing was the mirror..

Anything upwards of £30 seems crazy?

A scrappy saying a door is Mint = an average condition door. I was looking for a pair of wings for my mk1 Caddy because mine were really shoddy. Phoned up a scrappy and the bloke said, yeah, I got a pair of really good mk1 wings. When I turned up the left ring was completely rotten at the bottom, worse than what was on the caddy. And the other wing, well it was also a left wing which had a buggered arch and dents at the front. Still baffles me why he would think I would pay £70 for two s*** left hand wings.

There is always someone on ebay breaking a mk2, usually not that far away.

Recently tried to source a decent second hand rear door to no avail. So bought an OE one from VW Heritage for 425 squid - insurance claim so not worried about price. Nice!
