Rear wiper motor not working.Mk3 Golf

Can't you get one of the kids to dangle out the window with a cloth when it gets dirty?

  what if its a 3 door? sunroof?  then again what if it doesnt have one?

Having the exact same problem checked the motor manually and it works, fuses and relay working as well.
Rear water pump works and front wipers as well when stalk is pushed backwards,is this correct?
Are both wipers supposed to work at the same time along with the waterpump?
Should I try buying a new stalk?
Anyone else have the same problem and fixed by replacing the stalk?

Had this on a mk4 today,check the wiring from roof to tailgate ,the bit inside the flexible rubber sleave ,wires had  broken.

Checked the wiring this morning and its all good,no damaged wiring to be seen.So this is still a head scratcher for me,unless it is the control stalk thats faulty.

I changed my stalk, now the MFA don't work
Still at least the wiper works.....

I checked the wires in the rubber all good.
VWBush is your problem the same,and what is a MFA?

MFA is the button on the end of the stalk that cycles through your mpg,oil temp,weather temp,average speed etc etc.
