Let's help the guy out!
« on: 29 June 2012, 21:41 »
Evening all got a good topic for the weekend!
Well my mate was done for drink driving a year ago And he had only been driving this for 2 months

He has asked me to do the mot and any necessary work to get it through. Now the engine, it is an AGU running a ko3s but with a horrible map. He bought the car as is. It runs horribly! When you come to idle the revs drop and come back and look at the pics for a dv and other bodg stuff. It's a cheaply vent to atmosphere on the cold side and when you bout the engine under load it judders only sometimes. I unplugged the MAF on the way home and it did not judder but had a minimal amount of boost. To be fair I would say my ko3 ARZ is quicker and has more pull.

Tomorrow I am going to scan it, and then put a 007p on and try the pipe work back to what it should be and maybe keep the cold side relocation as it is already there. Oh it also smells filthy rich!

true, the dv could be causing all sorts of running issues.
has to be said though, i have no sympathy for the drink driving issue...

Dv is in the first engine pic right next to the rad. Don't know it does look good though! Is that a symptom of a dodgy ignition amp?

I see it now. Iphone ftl

Is that a forge apitter valve! Personally id move it back to where it goes.

Ignition amp can have many symptoms!
Missfireing - no boost etc

Get standerd air box with pipecross air filter back on there m bin the air filter.

Rich smell could be a split breather hose, ushually under inlet manifold.

Cheers guys I will get on it tomorrow. I will just try my 007p as I don't have my stock one or another 007p  any1 got an agu or spare ignition and in / near Surrey I can try? I has potential but that rubbish dv and pipe work is holding it back

Toby where abouts under the inlet manni should I be looking?

Can't wait to get it running right and get nick to put a decent map on it
