noticed for the last 10 miles  of the journey home that most of the limits have been dropped TODAY - 50s down to 40, open limits down to 50

explains why there were so many speed camera vans ( 3 ) out on the way home.  :lipsrsealed:

Also had this in Bournemouth but we went from 70-50 on the duel carriage ways and others from 50-40/30 (I got 3 of the gouvernants points and £60 fine)

Is this a countrywide thing or just certain councils?

Oxfordshire turned them back on because people were speeding more often, they know this because they left some of the cameras on as a test, they found people did speed more often through zones where the speed cameras were and thought the cameras were off. The people who did get 'caught' by the cameras didn't get a fine as they were just testing a theory about speeding drivers.

Are these temporary speed limits, or have the signs actually been replaced with lower ones?

f**king enrages me the whole speeding thing. It is more luck than judgement these days.

North yorkshire has never had any fixed speed camera's and so far none are planned (despite the local road safety fullocrap partnership going on about them!)

Are you on about the Christchurch bypass? They're doing roadworks at the minute.

And if you're on about the wessex way, they dropped them years ago due to a few deaths on that road.
