Body coloured bumper
« on: 26 June 2012, 17:07 »
Howdy ladies and gents,

I've got a lovely tornado red GTI, I was thinking about getting the middle part of the rear bumper body coloured and leaving the bottom part where the exhaust is grey.

Has anybody done this and how much, I've asked at a local approved bodyshop (Swansway). Was given a quote of £160 thats includsive of VAT

Also if anybody is generous enough to have some pics or links to that would be great.

Cheers!

Makes a huge difference to the look, especially on a red GTI:

Take a look at these pics:

Now i've seen those pics i'm even more tempted,  if i can persuade the workshop to do the rear and the front parts (not the splitter) For aroud £200 that would be a nice subtle mod. Why they don't came like that as standard i don't know!!!

Totally agree, really does make the car look better.

Not too sure why they didn't come like that as standard. FYI the Edition 30 does come with colour coded bumpers as standard.

Well i will break the trend and say i dont like it painted, imo it spoils the lines of the gti and dont like the finish on the ED 30 because of the painted bumpers and skirts.

good 1st post for me to annoy everyone

I'm definitely going for it, again leaving the bottom skirt black/grey. :smug:

Just one more thing, what about the side skirts, I really like them black but will it look odd with the rear painted and the black side skirts? :undecided: :undecided:

Also I'm going to get the front colour coded as well, just the side parts and leaving the front splitter black/grey.

Hence why i dont like it, looks all wrong side on  :lipsrsealed: side skirts need painted to match the rear
