Do you have a oily engin(oil round rocker etc)?

I have found a cheap way of cleaning it up without any hard graft or getting your hands dirty.

You can use the new fairy power spray!!

Best time to do it is after you have been out a run or just home, spray all the oily areas, leave for approx 5 minutes then rinse off with hose(for stubborne oily areas a cloth may be needed to take off the excess oil).

I used it on my MK1 and MK3 and it takes it up like new, be warned it will smell for a few days tho but its worth it.

If you try it please let me know how you got on.

Fiary isnt just good for you're hands also you're engine!!!(good for hands as you dont need to get them dity) ha ha!!

I prefer to keep mine a bit oily as it provides a bit of protection from the elements outside the engine.

Sorry but really do not see the point in all this chrome stuff on the engine especially if its a daily driver. Engine is there to be used and get mucky. So i just do what i can to protect it.

Funny that you should say that as in my MK1 it was fine but in the MK3 it needed a wee while to dry out but after about 30minutes it did start then after a wee run it was back to normal. I think the water gets in the distributor?

can also drop down into the spark plugs if the seal isn't very good. Just have to either turn it over until it fires, or leave it.

just squirt on some industrial degreaser on mine and then blast it with the jet washer.

cover the distributor and lectrics with a plastic bag if you want but i dont

i don't care, my engine looks f**king ace!!! and its not a daily driver but when it gets driven it gets driven hard, just more to clean... never mind eh?
