Rear Brake Pressure Regualor Ceased...

Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone would lend some advice on my rear brake pressure regulator, Mines ceased, is it possible to un-cease or replace easily, and will this require a fuild bleed?

Plenty of WD40 and a rubber mallet will unstick the valve...

Sorted it this afternoon. WD40 and Some new freeze stuff buy locktite, did the trick. loose as can be now...

a word of advice to everyone - get this thing unseized and corectly adjusted if you car has been lowered!!

my 8v had a tendency to lock the back wheels under hard braking (because of the incorectly adjusted and seized thingy), causing many hair raising slides.  I alawys thought to myself- one day this is going to catch me out. but did nothing - because it was seized.

then one day, yep you guessed it -
80mph , B road, big slide, clip hedge, roll onto roof, slide slide slide - writeoff ! ooops

Yep can second that, you MUST get your rear brakes adjusted if you lower your car, especially if you slam it into the weeds. My 16v was locking the rears in the slightest of damp till I had them done and they are still too sharp despite being reduced as far as poss. 

FIX IT!!!

i think mines been adjusted as when its sitting flat there is a small load on the spring where as when u jack the car up the spring becomes loose.
My understanding of it is that when the car is sitting on the flat the spring should just be starting to pull that paddle on..

Can anybody second that? When sat flat on the ground should the spring just be starting to engage?

You won't need to adjust the valve unless you lower the car by more than 30-40mm...

mines been lowered that much and id dont think its been adjusted and its seems fine..
