« on: 24 June 2012, 13:55 »
Hi Guys....

Am looking for some advice, the car am looking for either has one of two extra's am looking for but not both Mmmmmm
Am looking for a Candy White 5 Door GTI with leather & parking Sensors front & rear....is this too much to ask for with out buying a new motor?

If i find one with leather is there people out there that fit the sensors with a factory finish???

Regards
Doug

Think ya gonna struggle with this mate unless you but a new bumper. I enquired about this when I got mine but the dealer wanted to fit theirs and they look like nipples sticking out on the car!

I thought that would be the case,I have seen the ones that look like the nipples haha....
So do I do without them and just go for the leather, or look for a GTI with the sensors and the Jakara cloth....?????

Leather and use ya mirrors! Think of the resale, IMO leather will benefit you more than parking sensors.

Ok you got me there!!!....But it's more for the Wife than me....well for me aswell as i dont want my GTI to be scuffed
Do you get the cloth seats only in the Red & grey checks? or is it just the GTD's that have the black & grey checks....

There is a few I have seen with the sensors & with the cloth, at a no bad price so it's done to what I think will sell on in later years

That's right, the only option on the GTi is the red cheque. Leather became standard around October / November  2011 so make sure you don't pay over the odds form one with cloth.

A friend of mine has a Mk6 Golf with parking sensors and my impression was, waste of money.  They're so over-sensitive you just get used to ignoring them.

I've never found that.
They work, and work a treat...I can judge distances down to under 4" with total confidence. Even better with F&R sensors + rear camera.
Well worth every penny of the cost in my view.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

I have sensors front, rear and rear view camera and they are worth every penny.  Leather is not IMO.

There was a guy on here that retrofitted sensors and they looked OEM, can't remember his name now but it was the same guy that painted his fog surrounds white and carbon wrapped his rear diffuser??? :undecided:

Haha!! Found it !
