How to clean under-bonnet sound proofing?
« on: 15 June 2005, 01:21 »
Hi guys,

My valver is 'finally' in the bodyshop for its long awaited restoration....hoping to get pics into projects section soon!

Anyway, my question is; since I have removed the sound proofing from under the bonnet I'd like to get it looking nice and fresh again to go with the rest of the car.  I'm just really not sure what would clean the material best.....anyone got any ideas?

Cheers,
Duncan

Could you not just replace it with dynomat? would be lighter, but i am not sure if it could take the heat! maybe stick kitchen foil over the dynomat :) LoL

If you mean the material sheet that connects to the underside of the bonnet then i would sugest hoovering it. Did the trick for me.

Thanks for all the responses and my apologies for not replying earlier (holidays).

I will go with a hoover/jetwash I think and see how it comes up.  If its looking crap I may just bin it and polish up the underside of the bonnet.......any opinions?
