1.8 Non Turbo
« on: 22 June 2012, 16:46 »
Hi. Posted this on the other section and was advised to post this here:

Hi. I'm going to look at MK 4 1.8 Non-Turbo soon.
I was just wondering what they were like? Are they quick? Is there anything I should watch out for etc?
Thanks.

Not quick, actually they are slow.
Better off buying a 1.8t and everyone will prop agree.
They are very cheap these days and alot more reliable

It's a 1.8 20v. So it's not slow, pretty nippy at 125bhp. But poor on fuel and for the little extra insurance money you can get a turbo!

as i posted in the other section not always true.

my insurance goes up from just under 1k (with all extras such as break down windcreen ect) with all mods declared to 2k for a 1.8t standard. 1k is a lot to pay for 25bhp more
