Jumping ship :-(
« on: 21 June 2012, 22:59 »
Well after only 4 months of GTD driving I have decided to change. To be honest I thought the GTD would be the car I'd keep for a good while as I thought it ticked all the boxes - looks, economy, spec, power etc. unfortunately it ended up being just like all the other Golfs I've had. Nothing ever replaced the 06 GTI I had back in March 06.

I've opted for something a bit different, although built on a Golf chassis apparently. I pick up a  facelift 12 plate Tiguan Sport with leather and a panoramic sun roof tomorrow.
I'll be getting on to ScottA soon to code the MFD (colour!) screen to show the Nav commands off the RNS I'll be buying soon off eBay, plus a few other bits and bobs.
So, my Golf days are over for a bit... Just hoping the MK7 will tempt me back ;-)

That's a shame, should have have got a GTI  Can't see the appeal of a Tiguan over a GTI TBO but each to their own and hope you get on better with this one
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

Yes, seriously thinking about it... It's a 140 diesel bluemotion so a few more horses wouldn't go a miss ;-)
What's recommended, 170?
Cheers

The Mk5 GTI was a peach as was the MK2 (IMHO)

Open heart surgery will need to be done ECU out but its well worth it transforms the car completely. The Doc or Ryhso  will do an excellent job
