i've been offered a donor vehicle with a decent engine and gearbox for little money and am seriously considering doing a conversion, what will i need to do it from the donor car and what will i need to source seperately if anything?

also as far as the wiring loom goes who would be able to splice it for me?

apologise for the frequency this has probably been posted but i have struggled to get a definative answer! :)

What is the donor car? In fairness you should have everything you need already. It's the best way to do it as you have all of those random brackets etc and you can see how it all bolts together. Rubjonny can sort the loom out for you.

I used an Ibiza I picked up cheap as it was rotton. Everything was pretty much there for me to use on my mk2 conversion.

the donor is a mk3 16v, i know it's a fairly plug and play conversion just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else i'd really need!

would i be able to run the 421 manifold on my 8v digi on the abf?

Nope, different port sizes and spacing.

I just did one of these myself, the donor car was also a MK3. If you're also taking the Mk3 gearbox (as i did) you'll need a speedo cable, you'll have to do a bit of fettling to fit the new gear shifter and either modify your pedal box to keep the hydraulic clutch or get the necessary parts to convert to a cable clutch. I managed to do the loom myself too (with a lot of help from rubjohnny - thanks again for that!) which wasn't too bad, especially considering I'm red/green colour blind! Best of luck!
