What Laptop for £500-£600 Mark?
« on: 21 June 2012, 03:23 »
Howdy Howdy, not been on for a while - exams and that

What laptops do you lot reccommend? I've got around £500-£600 to spend. I've currently got a Toshiba Satellite Pro which is almost 4 yrs old and needs replacing. It's been a pretty good machine and was thinking of getting another, but my dad has a 2-3yr old one and it hasn't been great (and it was a pretty high-end one when it came out). Is it just luck of the draw, or are there a particular makes that are just way better than others.

I'd want it to have at least an i5 proccessor.

Any suggestions?

If you can wait a few months and save some more look at the ultrabooks, they're great !

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Cheers for the input so far guys . I was pretty sweet on this one for a while:

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/series/Satellite-L870-series/1122217/

Only problem being that I think it looks miles better in white than the black, but the black one is the better specced machine. I even rang Toshiba and asked if they could do the black one with the white casing, but they said no

I'd quite like a 17" screen aswell

I too would vouch for toshiba. I bought a toshiba satellite laptop back in 2001 which had an nvidia graphics chip in it. Lasted me till 2006 when it finally died.

That laptop was very reliable.
