blanking cap/ grommit for rear wiper hole
« on: 19 June 2012, 00:54 »
Iv not been searching long, but its proving to be tricky already.

Iv removed the rear wiper assy and tried to fit a plastic cap from hardwear store in the hole left, but it seems to be just-shy of 25mil, so my 25mil cap just wont pop in!

Plan is to colour code it and seal it in place.
Any ideas people? Its an S reg estate.
Cheers

Halfords sell a grommet pack that contains the correct size. If you wanted to use your hard cap why don't you open up the hole slightly before sealing it in?

As already said. Halfords do a pack with a few in and it's the 24mm one you need. It's the biggest on in the pack.

Not to put a downer on this, but do u realise how easy it is to pop the boot open with just a grommet there? Really you need to weld a plate in otherwise it's an easy open for a golf thief.

it does make life easy...... however, any car with slim jims is only 30 secs longer to get into without damage anyways.......
