I don't see the point of buying that "whole unit" at all! You still need to remove the glass and then you'll have the extra labour of removing the existing lens too!

Just buy the LED bulbs for a fraction of that price (and some spare glass  :grin:)

Ahh boo! I broke my drivers side when "testing the water" so to speak didn't even have any bulbs, so had to replace that and keep the normal bulb. And apparently the drivers side is easier, so I'm screwed  :sick:

I'm trying to think of a different way to remove them.

Sat nav suction cup and pull hard?
Something behind the glass, I read cable ties as you can fasten multiple together?

Are the standard puddle lights an optional extra on the GTi ?
I cannot remember seeing them as an optional extra when "building" mine
