8v gti or driver
« on: 13 June 2005, 19:34 »
Is there going to be much difference in performance between the 2.0 8v gti and the driver? Because the insurance is a fair amount cheaper.

Sorry to ask but I've been searching for a site with the info and can't find one...

the driver is 90bhp, the 8valve gti 115bhp, 16v gti 150bhp, vr6 174bhp.

So yeah i guess there is a bit of difference

Go for the gti if you can afford it mate, will make you smile more

Can afford everything but the vr6, just wondering if it was worth the extra

yeah but can only budget £1500, so it'll be a pretty shagged vr6!

i 'think' the Driver has standard susp - so the drive will be extra soggy as well as slow

Bump...

Found a 3dr driver, full mot, fsh, new cambelt.

It's got a stainless aftermarket exhaust, looks like 6x4 oval. Also has adjustable suspension (could just be the dampers that are adjustable). Certainly looks lowered.

Up for £1295, going to look at it this arvo/tomorrow. Any thoughts?
