I overpaid tax in 04/05 and 05/06


...just got a letter saying a cheque will be sent shortly....i wont hold my breath!! 

Same here, got a letter last week saying I had overpaid in 04/05 and a cheque would be sent to me soon, got it the next day.

Send them a letter, with a copy of your P60.

Usually takes about 3 months to get a resolve.

Good news. Received a letter today from HMRC saying I have indeed paid too much tax and I will shortly receive a calculation of how much they'll pay me back, hopefully with a check attached to it

Oh so they'll do it automatically in a few years time? I rather do it sooner than later though, would like to upgrade from a mk3 soon 

so that'll be a mk1 then?

I did this last year around Feb and it took them 3-4months to send me my cheque of £500
