I think by now vw and other dealer, suzuki, merc, ford ect ect...will have a small print that says you have to take it to a authorised dealer for servicing ect and if you don't then know matter what the warranty work it might be, it's void..

Pm evo1986(member) he is a vw dealer and will tell you honestly...

No as that is against European competition laws.  There was a big fuss about it a few years ago and it was passed that as long as the garage is VAT registered and uses genuine parts then the warranty must be upheld.

As the OP is in Cyprus then he must check the laws within that country  :nerd:

Cheers to all, if it's down to the law down here i guess i won't bother, a pair of struts worths about 80 euros so...

Btw, just called the dealer AGAIN.  They told me that VW in Germany checks the service record of cars and won't cover the expenses even if the car is within warantee, unless the car is serviced at the dealer's.  Now, they asked me to service the car there once so that they are able to cover the struts.  In other words, they need me to pay something like 500 euros for them to cover an 80 euro part.  Is that playing me or what??  How come VW Cyprus is checked by Germany and VW UK is not???
