and why that colour, much nicer ones out there.

why a 16v, much rare ones out there

and 11 weeks is now my record, Daily, twice daily, if not more checking of

ebay,
gumtree
autotrader
owners forums x LOTS
car & classic
freeads
trade it

to name but a few.

7pm onwards, every night.

and then you stumble on an unrestored, original, low mileage GEM.

and its a LOT rarer than an oak green 16v  :smug:

Then forget the ebay listing finishes and miss out?

Buy a late non gti model, then abf it. My 1.3 is in a very rare colour, the no plate says 'hung' and its abf soon to be 20vt. That way you're replacing/repairing as you go.. Prob find much better shells as they're 7ft off the ground so the underseal is perfect, and my 1.3 only did 90, and stones aren't as hard at that speed, since being a 130mph beast it's riddled with them! That's what I did and what I'd do if I were you anyway... The money you save being non gti goes towards the abf etc...

Exactly what I'm doing, got my 1.3 for £200, hardly any rust, just dented door and a TINY patch on the rear quarter.

Also having a mk4 AGU donor helped

and alot of people around that know what they're doing!

I've always been interested in shell strenghts and what models were tougher and heavier?
Plus I know on NON sunroof models they should have harder shells?  :undecided:

Well I can beat that, I paid £100 for my 1.3 7 years ago, my boss knocked the guy from £400 down. It had a bust + short circuited matrix, smelly wet carpets, and was out of tax by a day- the guy wanted shot. The paint looked like a cross between sh!t and blood, but after t cut, g3 and srp its a beautiful uber rare metallic 'tabac' burgundy- and that's its rare factor, love it to bits. The guy even drove it to my house and walked home for that 1er, as I had no licence at the time. Funny really, paid a 1er for it, and mustve spent 25x that on it since!! No regrets though
