BMW 330d enhancement.
« on: 09 June 2012, 11:57 »
Hi guys, had the opportunity to team up again with 888Dave @Ideal Valeting and Detailing to enhance this Bmw 330d.

to start with Dave pre sprayed the rims with smart wheels i think and was left to dwell for 10 mins before cleaning with EZ detail wheel brushes then proceeded to pre wash with a diluted G101 solution through the snow foam lance to strip anything previously applied to the car along with the dirt.

after a good soak we gave it a good 2b wash with microfibre mitts rinsed and IronX treatment on the body and wheels rinsed again and clayed using Supernatural clay rinsed agin quickly and dried before moving into the unit to inspect what we were up against.

inspection time, plenty of swirls to deal with

Dave got straight in there and hit the boot with the Festool and Menzerna 203 S while i started on the passenger side roof

50/50

after a few passes on the bonnet it was as good as it was going to get, there was alot of very small stone chips and pitting

we then moved onto the wings and doors.

during and after each set we used panel wipe for inspecting the true finish we were getting,
Dave then applied supernatural glass coat

we then applied Supernatural Hybrid and allowed it to cure for 30mins

once cured we buffed and then dressed the tyres with Carpro Perl

Thanks for reading
questions and comment welcomed

Dan.

Top job mate.

You left the SNH for 30, any reason why? When I did mine the other week I did half the car then had to buff off. I was in the sun however, but I'd have thought 30min was quite a while, must have been tough to buff off  :undecided: I'm aware I am questioning your pro detailer mate, but I always use the finger smear test  :embarassed:

On another note ...How good is that SN glass sealant, mine lasted me just under a year of good solid beading/protection. So easy to apply, love it

Thanks guys much appreciated,

Scarr89: no problem mate fire away with any questions :) i wont bite your head off.
we left it for 30mins because the temps inside the unit were low as it was about 830pm by the time we got to the wax stage and didnt have the heaters on, and yes we did obviously do the swipe test before attempting to buff, came off as easy as it went on ;)
i havent tried the SN glass sealant yet but after Dave applying some and giving me the lowdown on it i may get some for future details, personally i use G-techniq for glass but not ruling out SN glass sealant.

Ahhh, that would make sense. OBV ambient temps play a big part in how long it takes to cure, gotcha

Use it, it is awesome stuff

Keep up the good work
