wheel bearing sound

ok since iv had my new golf it sounds like i need a new rear passenger side wheel bearing. nut its odd as some days its really noticable and some days theres no sound at all. also i used to get the sound at low speed but over about 40mph it would disapear. but now at low speed theres no sound but over 40mph it sounds like a wheel bearling noise.

I already tried swapping front to rear tyres and it's the same. Defo sounds like a wheel bearing at times.

dont think it make much of a diferance. i think i can hear a tiny tiny difernce turning left or right but that may be in my head as im expecting it to get quieter if i turn left and worse if i go right. also depends on how long iv been driving the car or if its a hot sunny day or not.

Could be the lip of a worn disc rubbing on the pads or a calliper that's seizing a bit then releasing itself.

actully my rear brakes creak all the time. it i have hand break on and i turn steering left or right or even wiggle about in the car on a slight hill the rear brakes are noisy as foooooooook

ive been told to jack the car up and check if there is any play,if the bearing is worn it will have play on the shaft.

have done that and cant feel any play. also took the cap of to see the state inside and the outer bearing looks on and has plenty of grease in it

Ah! Mine is doing exactly the same!!!! No play in the bearing. My mechanic buddy recons its a stepped tyre but i havent tried moving the tire around. Let me know how you get on chap as it does my head in!!!

One other thing i have noticed is the back end moves around when going over pot holes with that corner! Not sure if you get that?
