Mk6 suspension thread
« on: 06 June 2012, 20:29 »
Don't think there are any suspension comparison threads on here so decided to start one.

whats your set up your running?

how does it feel/look/compare to standard or any other kits you tried?

any photos and descriptions of whats fitted would be good.

i'll start by showing off My Bilstein B12 kit came this afternoon. I got cracking fitting the rear end tonight. will be fitting the fronts tomorrow if its dry.

First impressions are pretty damn good. the quality of the bilstein struts is superb and you can't go wrong with eibach from my experience. You can tell they're a top piece of kit. can't wait to test drive them once fitted.

will post some photos when the fronts are fitted and its had a chance to settle.

looking forward to getting some miles on them and getting the alignment sorted as my whittling bump steer kit as thrown my alignment out a lot.

once this is done (WALK, WL BS kit and B12) it should be a damn fine handling car.

maybe a WL rear sway bar on the cards too and then that will be it sorted. just the brakes to take care of now

maybe just maybe i may get a down pipe to go with my cat back if i can be arsed one day but the outright power isn't really an issue for me - i think stage 1 is enough without ruining the cars usability/quietness etc.

i just wanted a more involving car to drive which is why I've invested a lot in suspension.

i know what your saying thought theres always something to bolt on.

front fitted today. p!ssed down all afternoon but got there in the end!

WALK and bump steer kit

some poor iPhone photos. can't really get a proper idea from these but will take some more with a real camera.

took it for a test drive once sorted (despite the rain!) and first impressions are the damping is excellent, the initial turn in is much better and sharper, the ride is no worse than standard - its firm cut very well controlled where i found the OEM suspension a bit crash, especially the rear. i will stick another 100 miles or so on it then get the alignment done and get a proper idea of the changes
