Thank the lord for TPS
« on: 06 June 2012, 09:15 »
Went for a long weekend in Wales, pulled onto the carpark in Aberystwyth and BANG clutch pedal failed

The AA recovered the car home as I had no tools and nothing to bodge it up and parts at the local dealer were shut. Just rang TPS in Birmingham and everything I need is in stock. £24 inc vat.

First car ive ever had on a low loader

I thought VW's were meant to be good! They cant even weld a bracket on a clutch pedal properly lol. I thought I had eliminated most of the common faults. Seems I did all but the one which left us stranded.

Lucky you

The one in Cardiff told me I couldn't buy a seal for a boost pipe on its own and would have to order the complete pipe itself at £35.

Went to Cardiff VW and bought the seal

The AA bloke came in a transit. I left it with him as he had to wait an hour for the pick up. I got a lift off my misses old man and went back to where we were staying

I know. The nail of a civic I used to have was indestructible

Hitting the limiter daily at 8500rpm and all it wanted was a top up of oil every now and again. Never known a car be like the golf with so many common problems!
