my new(old) mk3 gti 8v

just bought my first gti and its of mk3 variety only the 8v but times are hard and im only 20 after all.

but overall a solid car as far as i know and happy with the purchase so far, as only got it on friday

cheers. not really sure what i want to do with the car yet. just sorting a few issues out, needs a new clutch so thats booked in for tomorrow. i just wanna get a few niggles sorted out on the body work like a dent in the drivers wing and a small one on the bonnet. probably followed by some lows and some new shoes

Nice choice, i've just stumbled back into vw ownership with an almost identical silver gti also in need of some tlc. It was supposed to be a budget motor but already been polished, waxed and treated to new trim etc

i picked mine up from luton, but the dealership tags on it say "citygate chalfont" which is buckinghamshire.... not sure how the reg numbers work then, i thought the last 3 was its registration area... maybe i was wrong!! look forward to seeing your progress

ha yeh maybe youre right then 

in terms of progress havent really done much apart its had a new cambelt, taken the little door reflector protector things off and its currently in the garage getting some treatment. new clutch, power steering belt as the old one squeaked on full lock, a few other bits and bobs and hopefully picking it up later.

there's a dent in the drivings wing from previous owner and a small one in the bonnet. so kinda need to source a new wing which i reckon will be more cost effective than getting it repaired and trying to match the colour, as well as some notorious sill trims that have cracked and warped etc. im not sure about the rear lights aswell so may pick up some original gti badboys..
