colour coding spoiler

ok have been looking at colour coded spoilers today on fleabay. and spotted loads that look like normal gti spoilers that have been painted. can you paint the gti spoiler?

thinking about this myself. as on vr6 higlines they are colour coded and look nice. all you realy need to do it pred the spoiler and then plastic primer it then normal primer then spray it & laqure it.

i did buy some plastic primer once from halfords but whe i sprayed it it seemed to be like really thin clear coat with what looked like small metal flakes in it. and did not stick to plastic at all. think i may have bought a faulty batch or something. what does plastic primer look like when sprayed on?

Self etching primor? High build primor?

Everyone ive used is grey or White.

Used a gear blue primor for some galvanised steel once. Was yours like that?

mine said plastic primer on the tin but when i sprayed it it was like clear coat with very tiny metal flex in it and it would not stick to anything. just kept reacting.

so is it ok to used plastic primer on gti spoiler then normal primer? or just plastic primer and then colour?

I just used plastic primer on my grill and its still fine to this day

yeah but im doing the spoiler and its not hard plastic its kinda hard foam aint it. plus im gona have to really go over it iwth thinners as iv been using silicone based tyre gel on it to make it black again. and silicone and paint dont mix.

id say my grill was more flexible and just as soft as my spoiler, just smooth it right down prim and paint, i can't really see it going wrong
