well i was at work today speaking to the punters while serving pints and got talking about mk3s with an old boy, he has a golf gti 8v anni replica with genuine fully serviced and stamped every year 80k on a 97 failed its mot last month on a indicator bulb a tyre and the abs light stays on. my shift ended went outside as he was leaving he looked at my 1.6 and said he likes how clean i keep my golf mentioned he was going to leave it in the garden as he didnt know what to do after being given a mk4 by his brother but said i could have it for £200 i have a f**ked 1.4 to scrap anyway as its a rust bucket so should get 130 ish from it so basically im only having to pay around 70 but an 80k 8v with anni bumpers and interior for £200 u reckon its worth it?

If it's pretty clean and tidy and relatively rust free then yeah. Just don't go round shouting that it's an Anni because it's not.  :grin:

well im gonna go look at it this week he said its had all the trim took off and had that rust prevention stuff put on it then had trims put back on again by vw plus hes had it since brand new hes 80 odd so i doubt its been thrashed as i think i may of once shouted at him for doing 30 in a 60 lol

If its got the full Anni interior I would rip his arm off as a good condition interior would fetch 200 quid easy.

so in a nutshell, a 8v with no MOT

Prob just worth it. if its in very good condotion...


Bear in mind i got a near mint 16 valve GTI with MOT (but suspect head gasket) for £250

in otherwords yeah its an 8v with no mot lol and true the cheapest 16v round here at moment ia 795 but it looks clean ect il look at it but if not im still holding out for the vr

Even if you bought it and stripped it you would make a profit at that price.  Not saying that's what you should do but if it was the only option. You would make more than 200 stripping it and weighing in the shell.

hmmm yeah but its that or i might get a quote to get a car transported from manchester and get that proper anni on the classifieds on here for 325
