Wishbone bushes done steering wheel now off center??

As above any ideas ? My mate recons the ball joint bolts may be slightly miss angled but im not sure any ideas before i get it tracked

When you get the tracking done they should be able to straighten the steering wheel.

I didnt want to get the tracking done if it can be helped as it was fine before hand surely its something we have done wrong ?

Putting new wishbones on my old Omega put the tracking out by a country mile. You would have thought that the same parts were made to the same drawing by whoever makes them. Not in that case.

So it likely nothing is 'wrong' - just different. You should check everything is tight and then get the tracking done. Camber too probably...

Lol yeah ive had enough of laying on my back under the car for the last 2 days everythings torqued up ect so im letting someone else do the dirty work tomoz and getting it all done ! I didnt change the wishbones though i just did the bushes but regardless i was messing about with the front end of the car ...

Changing just the bushes could affect the camber / tracking so well worth getting it checked.

You always need to get it done if you change any of the suspension. As it will always alter the tracking to some degree.

when I had my TT arms fitted both front wheels pointed out so far they didn't even register on the gauges lol

Your camber won't be affected as there is no adjustment on the Golf as standard (apart from moving the subframe slightly) but your tracking will probably be affected due to tightening it all back up

Haha yeah mine was 9mm out i think they said! all fine now though and the car is alot stiffer ive now done wishbones, top mounts and rear axle only the dogbone left really  :smiley:
