Camera Cleaning kit/advice

Ive been taking a few shots of us waterskiing this weekend and ive noticed that when i look through the viewfinder there is a small hair in the top left of the picture.

Now after reading another thread on here it is said that this is most likely the mirror if it doesnt show up in the pics.Which it doesnt.
So what kit do i need?The camera is only a month or 2 old so i will take it to cmaera exchange and get them to do a full clean of the sensor etc but i want to clean the lenses and the mirrors.

Speaking to my old man who used to develop his own pics,he said to get some kind of puffer brush thing.
Not bothered about cost id like the right kit for the job.

Any advice please.

I have been advised that the sensor/mirror should be cleaned professionally. Most camera shops will do it for you.

Even the mirror?I read your thread in feb when i searched but the way i read it you are able to do your mirror yourself but the sensor should be done by a pro?

If your going to take the camera in for a sensor clean then they will clean the mirror also. I was told by a wedding photographer that it is best to get the internals of the camera cleaned by a professional.

They said an amateur photographer like myself should get the sensor and mirror cleaned every 12 months. However don't quote me on this. I'm sure some of the more experienced lads on here will point you in the right direction 

I just make sure when I am switching lenses I minimise the amount of time the internals are exposed to the elements.

I was hoping there was a way i could clean the mirror myself as the camera is only a month or 2 old but if thats what is needed i will book it in for wednesday.

If it's only a month or two old, chances are you just got a hair on the mirror while changing lens.

I would get one of the blower/brushes and try cleaning it off yourself.
Or you could take it back to the shop you bought it from and ask them to sort it under warranty.
If a full clean is needed at 2months old, then that should be covered by them, no need for you to stump up £70+ for a full clean.

It is just a hair but didn't want to touch the mirror unless I was not going to damage anything.

I heard that where possible lense glass should never be cleaned, as they have a special coating on them, which should keep them clean. Only ever blow dust off with dry air. Also, doesnt matter if the mirror or eyepiece has crap on, as the lens comes up oit of the way when taking the photo.
