In need of a brake upgrade
« on: 02 June 2012, 22:08 »
What brake upgrades can I get to fit under 16" rims, cause I don't want to get bigger rims for it becuase it's a race car and tyres get f@~king exspensive and I what to reduce unsprung weight as mush as possible. (If I need to put spacers on thats fine.) At the moment i'v got standard calilpers with up rated discs and pads.
Any ideas?

Upgrading brake...you will most defo have to increase weight in some part of the complete brake component. 312mm discs with uprated pads/discs are good. Other wise I'd say it would be the 4pot brembos of the LCR...Hope you got a big wallet

Are there any 4 pots that would fit under 16"?

D2 racing are fine, they are a rebrand of another popular and well known make, I can't comment on the surface area of the pistons as it does not specify, but the quality in general of d2 racing products are pretty good.

Also note that although it does say it 'could' fit under 15" (I emphasise could) it depends very much on the offset and the design of the wheels. Personally I don't like running with such little clearances as it's difficult to clean, I have to take my wheels off if I wish to give my calipers a good clean.

Well I'v got 20mm spacers all round so they should and I'v of 16" so if they fit under 15" they should be fine
