had my tracking done today, both front and back were well out but they could only do the front as they were the only ones that could be adjusted. (so confused how the back could be so out to ahwell)

while i was there 2 hours waiting "yawns" i asked for them to fill my tyres up with Nitrogen as the leaflet told me to LOL. anyways on the way home i felt the drive was much better not so bouncy (coilovers ;-)..) but couldn't decide if it was because iv just got the tracking done or the nitrogen in my tyres. how ever i will be keeping my eye on how much petrol i am meant to save as it said use 4% less petrol thinking about it not sure if that was a year or on every journey.

Anyways else thought about Filling your tyres up with Nitrogen?

As Mr wronghorse says! It's a complete gimmick. Compressed air is 78% nitrogen. Unless you are running a formula 1 car it makes no difference.

Disagree. It does make a difference. The advantage with nitrogen is it's thicker too so it won't go down over time through any tiny leaks like air should. I however hate the fact that you have to pay for it over here. Over in Spain and Brazil you can get it at petrol stations for free.

Nitrogen is lighter than air, slightly, but has larger molecules.
I could go into business as we have a bulk liquid Nitrogen facility where I work 
We use it in place of air lines as it is much dryer and cleaner.

I had a set of new tyres filled with nitrogen on my old MV6. 18 months later they were still up to pressure.

TBH I started out very cynical - I too know that air is 78% nitrogen. But the fact is they never needed topping up.

Honestly gents its a gimmick! Normal road tyres do not benefit from 100% nitrogen. It's all depends on the operating temp!
For normal road tyres nitrogen is a  placebo effect!

Your correct, compressed air does contain water molecules which will pass through the porous walls of a tyre, however the actual difference you will notice is minute!

The cost you pay for nitrogen filled tyres is a rip off compared to the tiny gain you might get. You will prob get more leakage from the valves or tyre gunk.
